Amphibious Article (with Pictures)

Kaiju Search-Robot Avery has stumbled upon an article about the giant sea-scorpion flick Amphibious 3D (Indonesia/Netherlands-2010; dir. Brian Yuzna) in a French magazine. If your French is pretty good, you can read the text. If not, just look at the pictures. Click on the images to increase the pages to a readable size.

Here are the two two-page spreads:

Update: Demeking on DVD

The enigmatic daikaiju eiga Demekingu (Japan-2009; dir. Kôtarô Terauchi) -- based on the popular manga by Takashi Imashiro -- will be released on DVD in the West (in Japanese with subtitles) on 12th October by Cinema Epoch. The title, you'll notice, has been rendered as Demeking: The Sea Monster -- even though the kaiju comes, in fact, from space.

Dinocroc and Supergator on the Move!

On the eve of the premiere SyFy Channel showing of Jim Wynorski's giant monster mash-up, Dinocroc vs Supergator -- incidentally one of the last films of genre legend David Carradine -- we have a bunch of pictures, along with a great SFX reel.

Why don't we just go out for dinner!

Supergator prefers take-away:

Dinocroc likes 'em bikini-wrapped:

Seconds?

Hey! Save one for me!

SFX Reel: it's looking pretty damn good here! Immediately below is the theme music. Let it play over the SFX video that follows!

The Insects Are Getting Closer...

Undead Backbrain first heard of Pesticide (US-2009; dir. Pat Cerrato) back in October 2008 when Kaiju Search-Robot Avery happened upon a casting call looking for actors willing to get chased and eaten by giant insects: "Wanted! People To Get Eaten By Bugs". Since then we've seen the following "rough cut" trailer:

And Undead Backbrain posted some production pics here.

Now, the director, Pat Cerrato, has sent us a rough cut of the title sequence -- all 4 seconds of it. Watch carefully...

Creepie crawlie, eh? We're told the insects get much much bigger....

Now the Sewer Can Be Chewed in Your Own Home!

Undead Backbrain told you about it here, when it was in post-production. Well, now James Hawley (aka Jack Acid)'s low-budget, high-disgust-factor monster movie, Sewer Chewer, is available for purchase on DVD. And you certainly get your money's worth of sewage. The film runs for just shy of 2 hours, plus there's a second disk of assorted sludge, including music videos, bloopers, outtakes, storyboards and lots more.

Go to the website with your credit card and the DVD will be flushed right back at ya!

Surely this is something you want in your home, right?

What is it?
Sewer Chewer is a tribute to the creature features of the 70's and 80's drive in movies. A space satellite falls to earth and lands in a rural area, radiating the local wildlife into a mutant monster that has a large appetite for humans. An unnamed government agency sends a special agent out to dispose of the satellite and the mutant and any who know of it. (IMDb)

Meanwhile, here's a new, really disgusting extended promo video featuring various members of the cast who happen to make up the band Captain Eyeball. Enjoy!

And for those who are too lazy to go the Undead Backbrain article and read up on the film in detail, here's the trailer again:

Making Monsters

After premiering at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas during March, Gareth Edward's low-budget indie monster film, Monsters, has been garnering some excellent reviews. Read this one on IGN or this one on firstshowing.net.

Synopsis:
Six years ago previously, a NASA probe returning to earth with samples of an alien life form, crashed over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear, and half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain "the creatures"... The story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.
Just released is a Making Of video, featuring Edwards talking about his film. Here it is, courtesy of Dread Central:

Monsters also has a new website -- here.
